Announcement of Company Name Change
Tokyo, April 3, 2017 – Panasonic Healthcare Holdings Co., Ltd. ("Panasonic Healthcare HD") and Panasonic Healthcare Co., Ltd. ("Panasonic Healthcare") have decided to change the company names (trade names) to PHC Holdings Corporation and PHC Corporation respectively. This will become effective April 2018.
In 2014, Panasonic Healthcare was carved out of the Panasonic group with external funding. Founded in 2014, Panasonic Healthcare HD acquired the Diabetes Care business of Bayer AG in 2016, which was established as Ascensia Diabetes Care Holdings AG ("Ascensia HD"), and since then has been steadily expanding business in more than 125 countries. In April 2018, the names of all group companies including domestic and overseas affiliates, with the sole exception of the Ascensia HD group, will be changed to the names that start with “PHC.”
In line with the company name change, Panasonic Healthcare HD will be changing current branding that use the “Panasonic” name. Multiple brands as shown below will be used to represent each business under the PHC corporate brand.
