PHC Group Completes Acquisition of FUJIFILM Healthcare Systems’ Electronic Medical Record and Medical-Receipt Systems Business — New Company “Wemex Healthcare Systems” Begins Operations Comprising Acquired businesses ―

PHC Holdings Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President, Representative Director and CEO: Shoji Miyazaki, hereafter PHCHD) announces that its subsidiary Wemex Corporation (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President, Representative Director: Takayuki Otsuka, hereafter Wemex) has completed the acquisition^*1 of the business related to electronic medical record and medical-receipt systems from FUJIFILM Healthcare Systems Corporation (headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President, Representative Director: Junji Obara, hereafter FUJIFILM Healthcare Systems). The acquisition was announced in March 2023.

FUJIFILM Healthcare Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President, Representative Director: Akio Yamamoto), the parent company of FUJIFILM Healthcare Systems, spun off the business related to electronic medical record and medical-receipt systems and Wemex has acquired all shares of this new company through a share purchase agreement. The company will now operate as Wemex Healthcare Systems Corporation (hereafter Wemex Healthcare Systems), a subsidiary of Wemex, and focus on developing, selling, and providing maintenance services related to electronic medical record systems, medical-receipt systems, and electronic medication history systems in Japan. The customers for these systems include medical institutions, pharmacies, and dental clinics.

Wemex is known for its high market shares in Japan in electronic medical record and medical-receipt systems for clinics and electronic medication history systems for pharmacies, with more than 40,000 users in total. Wemex Healthcare Systems has a strong customer presence in its receipt checking services. Now Wemex and its new subsidiary will complement each other in leading the healthcare IT industry with this combined customer base.
