TOKYO, May 8, 2018 - PHC Corporation (hereafter PHC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PHC Holdings Corporation (headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) announces the signing of a basic agreement with Integrity Healthcare Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) for distributing the "YaDoc" Online Medical Care System developed by Integrity Healthcare as well as linking PHC's Electronic Patient Record Systems with "YaDoc." PHC has been offering value-added products and services through its three core businesses—Medical Devices, Healthcare IT, and Life Sciences, and this step aims to expand PHC product line-up of Healthcare IT business.
The Online Medical Care System "YaDoc" is an ICT system that complements existing face-to-face medical examinations by enabling doctors to monitor chronological changes of patient conditions, have patients complete medical information forms and conduct real-time video consultations all on an online basis. Used alongside conventional medical examination, "YaDoc" provides doctors with a clearer understanding of patient conditions to enable greater accuracy for diagnosis and treatment. The system is also expected to assist patients who find it difficult to make frequent doctor visits but still need constant medical treatment for lifestyle-related and other diseases. It will also help the elderly who require assistance walking as well as extremely busy individuals from interrupting or even stopping medical treatment. In addition, linking the system with PHC Electronic Patient Record System as this agreement covers will enhance treatment quality and efficient medical data management.
Takayuki Otsuka, head of the Medical Information Systems (Medicom*) Division that is responsible for Healthcare IT business, had this to say, "It was back in 1972 that our company launched Japan's first medical-receipt computer. Since then, we have leveraged our accumulated experience and knowhow to underscore our commitment to provide leading-edge healthcare IT solutions. Based on our core product, Electronic Patient Record System, PHC aims to build a next-generation medical solution platform covering telemedicine ranging from health management, medical examination to diagnosis. This year, remote care systems were authorized for reimbursing medical service fees as set forth in the latest revision of the pertinent regulation. While telemedicine has been evaluated and attracted more attention in medical service fee revisions, PHC took a step forward in its alliance with Integrity Healthcare, seeking to contribute to healthcare quality improvement through telemedicine."
