TOKYO, February 5, 2021 - PHC Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Kyoji Morimoto) announces the launch of its “Medicom-HRf core*1” medical-receipt system, a product for clinics with enhanced add-on functionality including upgrades to the Medicom-HRf*2 integrated electronic medical record (EMR) system.
As the COVID-19 situation continues, the growing concern for patients becoming critically ill due to missed medical visits coupled with deteriorating business conditions has led to significant environmental changes for medical institutions. These include the introduction of telemedicine and other new systems for delivering healthcare. This requires medical institutions to have access to a range of new optional services to choose from as needed, which gives them the flexibility to respond to these shifting needs.
Incorporating basic functions for medical administration tasks as standard, the Medicom-HRf core medical-receipt system offers various add-on functions that clinics can select to optimally meet their needs. In addition to system linkage with the online health insurance verification system*3, new service options such as in-house system linkage with testing equipment to obtain patient data and online reservations for examination appointments are available, offering an extensive range of choices to meet the various needs of medical institutions. In addition, the Medicom-HRf core system will be able to support more smooth and efficient operational changes to meet future needs, allowing upgrades to Medicom-HRf integrated EMR systems.
PHC Corporation is a Japanese subsidiary of PHC Holdings Corporation, a global healthcare company that develops, manufactures, sells, and services solutions across diabetes management, life sciences and diagnostics, as well as providing healthcare services in Japan. The new Medicom-HRf core aims to enhance the new services in the Medicom*4 brand domestic healthcare IT business.
Takayuki Otsuka, Corporate Officer and co-head of the Healthcare Services Domain of PHC Holdings Corporation says, “Since launching Japan’s first medical-receipt computer in 1972, PHC Corporation has established a strong healthcare IT business that supports clinics and other medical institutions and pharmacies, using its accumulated experience and specialist expertise.
