Panasonic Healthcare Corporation of North America
Wood Dale, IL, September 29, 2017 – Panasonic Healthcare Corporation of North America has accepted the results of independent testing by a nationally recognized testing laboratory showing the company's new VIP ECO as having the lowest total daily energy usage in its class, based on ENERGY STAR data published in September 2017. Panasonic Healthcare's VIP ECO joins its product line, known worldwide for reliability and dependability for storage of high-value biologicals and life science materials.
The VIP ECO freezer is designed to operate on an innovative variable differential cascade refrigeration system using natural refrigerants. The combination of variable speed compressors with Panasonic-invented inverter control maintains a balance between power consumption and temperature control to minimize energy use and to assist facility users in meeting environmental sustainability goals without compromising performance.
Important metrics reported by third-party testing agencies cite two key energy benchmarks attributed to VIP ECO performance in both steady state and daily (multiple door openings) energy consumption:
- 7.30 kWh/day, Steady State Energy Consumption
- 7.87 kWh/day, Daily Energy Consumption
Full ENERY STAR data on the VIP ECO is available here: https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-lab-grade-refrigeration/details/2303094.
Energy savings realized through the new platform are coupled with performance attributes that meet or exceed ENERGY STAR criteria for interior temperature uniformity, fast temperature recovery following door openings, and tolerance for high ambient environments. The VIP ECO freezer is ideal for immediate replacement of less-efficient freezers and for new laboratories. The interior volume of 25.7 cu.ft. (729 L) is sized to accommodate many existing inventory racks used in other freezers, permitting quick material transfer with zero downtime where replacement installations are selected.
Performance data herein is based on independent testing at time of publication.
