Cold Storage
What are benefits of storage at -150°C?
PHCbi cryogenic freezers offer the ability to maintain a stable, reliable and -150°C temperature at all vertical levels within the cabinet, avoiding severe temperature differentials typically seen in a liquid nitrogen (vapor-phase) refrigerators. Samples are maintained below the critical -130°C recrystallization point of pure water. Related models: MDF-C2156VANC.
What if the compressor in my Twin Guard series Ultra-Low Freezer fails?
Twin Guard Series freezers house a second, independent compressor system. The two compressors work together in normal mode, but if one fails the other can maintain ultra-low temperatures for an extended period of time. Please contact us or your local representative to schedule a repair service.

INCUBATORS
How does direct heat and air jacket compare to conventional water jacketed systems?
The patented Direct Heat and Air Jacket heating system distributes proportional energy to the interior chamber through a natural convection air jacket surrounded by a high density insulation to protect against ambient temp fluctuations.
What is the difference between single-beam, dual detector infrared (IR2) sensor and Thermal Conductivity (TC) Sensor?
The Cell IQ Incubator dual infrared (IR2) sensor is accurate and stable, unaffected by variations in humidity or temperature. Following door openings, full CO2 recovery is achieved within 2 minutes without overshoot. PHC's IR2 sensors are robust and long lasting. Compared to traditional thermal conductivity (TC) sensors, which are affected by variations in humidity and temperature, IR2 sensors provide precision readings and control. At a 5% setpoint, the difference can be as much as 80% inaccuracy for up to an hour following a door closing.

MONITORING
Is your system easy to install?
Yes. Our system runs on all battery-operated wireless sensors.
Does your system meet standard requirements?
Our system complies with most standard requirements, including HACCP, The Joint Commission, AABB, GMP, FCC, and the FDA. In addition, NIST calibration is available.
Is there a limit to the number of sensors that is supported by your system?
No. Our system supports an unlimited number of sensors. It is a modular system, so you can start out with a few sensors and then add on as your operation grows.
Can your system provide multiple alarms at different times?
Yes. Our system takes your specific needs into account. Not only can you set different temperature ranges, but you can specify what alarms should go off at what time of the day and who should receive the notifications.
What range of temperatures can your system monitor?
Our standard probe can monitor temperatures from -40°C to 100°C. Our ultra-low probe can monitor temperatures from -90°C to 32°C.
Are the Wi-Fi sensors complicated to integrate into our current system?
No. The Wi-Fi sensor transmits data wirelessly through the customer’s existing Wi-Fi network infrastructure to the enterprise server software.
Where can I find more information on LabAlert Monitoring System?
We have a special landing page dedicated exclusively to our LabAlert Monitoring system.

Cell Processing
What are the applications for the CPWS?
Immediate beneficiaries of the CPWS include both private and public institutions serving the life science, clinical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets. These include mainstream and scale-up pharmaceutical companies focused on drug and medical device development related to human cells, medical researchers applying cellular therapies in clinical trials, and hospitals administering cellular therapeutics to treat a broad range of diseases. Types of cells: hematopoietic stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, t-cells, embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, dendritic cells, NK/T & NK cells, pancreatic islet cells, neural stem cells, cardiac stem cells, vascular stem cells, hepatic stem cells, keratinocytes and engineered cells.
What are the benefits of the CPWS over a traditional clean room?
The relatively small footprint permits installation into existing or new laboratory space using common power outlets and requiring minimal site preparation. Multi-layered airlocks in multiple treated rooms are avoided. Capital intensive expenses are lowered and lead times from decision to operation are shortened. Once in place, operational costs are highly contained and predictable, with decontamination available more frequently.
How can the CPWS be decontaminated?
The PHC concept of a self-contained work station is enabled by hydrogen peroxide decontamination used in both campaign mode and concurrent product processing. By using a highly effective hydrogen peroxide decontamination process, the CPWS can be completely decontaminated without heat and prepared for the next protocol within two hours, while decontamination of a conventional cleanroom can take days or weeks.
Validation
What is ISO-14000?
Many companies are now familiar with the 9000 series of international standards dealing with quality systems. As a continuation of this standardization process, the ISO-14000 series of international standards have been developed for incorporating environmental aspects into operations and product standards.
